Shingrix is a shingles vaccine that consists of two injections, given 2 to 6 months apart. It is intended for adults aged 50 and older, or for adults aged 18 and older with an increased risk of shingles.
The vaccine is highly effective; in people aged 50 and older, it is estimated to prevent more than 90% of shingles cases and likely provides protection for approximately 15 years. You are generally responsible for the cost of the vaccine yourself, unless you belong to a specific medical risk group.
